ITM Power tie-up with GMI to tie renewable energy to H2 production
Production, Aug 10 2012 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- UK hydrogen energy storage company ITM Power has signed an agreement with GMI Renewable Energy Group Ltd, a company which supplies solar panel systems, among other services.
The two companies will jointly offer a solution to generate electricity and produce hydrogen with it.
The hydrogen will be made available for back-up power, industrial processes, and fuelling materials handling equipment (forklift trucks).
GMI will offer its customers the option of using electricity from their solar panels to make hydrogen.
“GMI is a great partner for ITM Power to bid for onsite hydrogen generation systems powered by renewables," said Dr Graham Cooley, CEO of ITM Power.
"A fully integrated renewable energy system which includes hydrogen fuel for applications like back up power, forklifts and pallet trucks is a unique market offering”
