ITM Power sells hydrogen generation system to CEA Grenoble
Production, Aug 03 2012 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- UK hydrogen technology company ITM Power has sold a hydrogen generation unit to CEA Grenoble, a French government-funded technological research organisation.
It will generate 5 normal cubic metres per hour of hydrogen, using electrolysis.
It will be used for research into ways to store energy developed by renewables.
The power supply for the electrolyser will be created by a simulator, which is designed to mimic the intermittent power supply from various forms of renewable energy.
The hydrogen will be stored in a metal hydride system then used in a fuel cell to provide power on demand.
The unit will be built in the UK and housed within a containerised platform that will be shipped to France as a fully CE marked plug and play unit.
