BloomBox installed at NTT America Data Centre
Fuel Cells, Aug 02 2011 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- IT infrastructure provider NTT America (part of NTT Communications Corp) has announced plans to install 5 "Bloom Energy Server" (or "BloomBox") fuel cells in its Lundy Data Center in San Jose, California.
Total capacity of the 5 fuel cells is 500 kW.
The fuel cell will run on biogas, and generate electricity for the building.
The BloomBox is a solid oxide fuel cell which can run directly on liquid or gaseous hydrocarbons, but convert their energy to electricity much more efficiently than using combustion.
