Russia’s first fuel cell powered unmanned flight
Fuel Cells, Nov  12  2010 (The Hydrogen Journal)

- Hydrogen Energy reports that its fuel cell systems have been used for Russia's first ever unmanned fuel cell powered flight, in a test facility near Moscow.

The test flight lasted "several minutes".

However researchers see it as the first step to a great deal more projects with aviation research, picking up on projects which were interrupted in the mid 1990s.

The flight used an AEROPAK proton exchange membrane system designed for mini-UAV propulsion.

The hydrogen was stored in compressed form.

The hydrogen also powered cooling and control systems.
