UPS - 150 watt hydrogen fuel cell generator
Fuel Cells, Apr 23 2010 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- UK fuel cell manufacturer UPS Systems has announced a distribution agreement with gas company BOC (part of Linde), to distribute its new 150 watt hydrogen fuel cell generator in the UK.
The unit could be used to power lighting, instrumentation, security cameras, power tools. It is priced at GBP 1995 excluding VAT.
It is designed for applications where an electricity supply is needed, which are not connected to the electricity grid, and where conventional (e.g. diesel powered) generators cannot be used.
It is powered by a small 300 bar hydrogen cylinder.
The company says that this is "arguably the UK's first commercially viable hydrogen fuel cell generator package".
