Delay in Copenhagen hydrogen cars plan
Transportation, Oct  02  2009 (The Hydrogen Journal)

- The city of Copenhagen has not managed to meet its target of having 15 hydrogen powered cars on the roads before the UN Climate Conference in December, according to an article in the Copenhagen Post.

It had expected to receive 13 vehicles from Norwegian car manufacturer Think and 2 work vehicles from French company Mega. Think was going to use fuel cells from H2 Logic.

However Think has had financial troubles, the Copenhagen Post says, and so H2 Logic was asked to install fuel cells in vehicles themselves, which they did not consider their competence. "We don’t produce cars; we produce fuel cells for car manufacturers," H2 Logic said.

How the contract has been amended so only 8 hydrogen vehicles will be sourced from Think instead of 2. To make up for this, the Copenhagen City Council will purchase a further 25 electric vehicles for its fleet.
