Los Angeles Freightliner to distribute fuel cell trucks

- Truck vendors Los Angeles Freightliner and Velocity Vehicle Group have both signed distribution agreements with Vision Industries Corp to sell its Tyrano hybrid fuel cell truck technology in the Los Angeles region.
Los Angeles trucking companies are being pressured by local regulators to install cleaner truck propulsion systems, which should lead to a number of orders for the technology.
Freightliner will also provide support and maintenance services for the fuel cells.
LA Freightliner was also involved in the implementation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered trucks in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
