New York’s 2nd hydrogen filling station
Production, July 18 2009 (The Hydrogen Journal)
- The second hydrogen filling station has opened in New York State, located at JFK Airport and operated by Shell, in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the US Department of Energy and General Motors.
The first hydrogen station in New York State has been in operation in White Plains since April 2008; a third station is due to open in the Bronx in late July 2009, developed together with the New York City Department of Sanitation.
This means that the three hydrogen stations in New York will be about 30 miles apart, which makes the beginning of a hydrogen cluster, necessary to make driving on hydrogen start to be plausible.
